When I lost my daughter at 10.5 weeks into my pregnancy, I needed a way to grieve and express my emotion and to heal. I began looking for answers on the internet. I came across a wonderful site that gave me some comfort, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. My husband and I had already taken some pictures of our daughter and I was beginning to feel like I was somehow wrong for taking a picture of my child after she became an angel. However, seeing the beautiful work of the photographers and knowing that I was not alone in needing some type of physical memory of the child I had just lost, gave me a sense of peace. I would like to offer some of that peace to mothers, fathers, and families of angel babies. The NILMDTS organization offers wonderful free services to parents that have lost or are experiencing the loss of a child at least 25 weeks of gestation. I would like to offer my hand and heart to to those with the loss of a child at ANY age of term. If I may be honest, my daughter MacKenzie was only 10.5 weeks gestation, and while she was not fully developed, she was still our daughter. She was beautiful, and pure, and ours... I offer my service to you at your hospital or home or any other place you may choose to have your private photo session. I want to capture the precious moments that you have with your angel baby. Whether your child has already become an angel, or you know that this will happen, my heart and compassion are yours. I know that those experiencing this loss may not first think of or understand having their child photographed, but offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives.
